Promised Savior

From Luke 24:13-49. Jesus appears to two men on the road to Emmaus and then to “the disciples.” In both stories, the main point is Jesus “opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.” In particular, to understand “everything written in the Law, Prophets, and Psalms” fulfilled in Him. It is vital to Jesus in both these stories that He be known as the completion and the fulfillment of the OT promises of a Redeemer and a Messiah. He is not “new” and “novel."

It is not Jesus or the Scripture. It is Jesus in the Scripture.
