Meet Our Deacons
Deacons give practical ministry and service to the congregation. Church members serving in various ministries and rendering various services to one another carry out the heart of ministry. Deacons are chosen on the basis of the qualifications set forth in 1 Timothy 3:8-13 and are accountable to the elders.
Chris Benton - Deacon of Building Care
The Deacon of Building Care oversees the maintenance and care of Redeemer’s facilities and coordinates volunteers and others to perform needed repairs and upkeep.
Mike Betterton - Deacon of Master Planning
The Deacon of Master Planning oversees the Master Planning Team, which is responsible for assessing the overall property and facility needs for Redeemer, proposing plans to meet such needs, and fulfilling such plans as approved by the Elders and congregation.
Allen Bradley - Deacon of Hospitality
The Deacon of Hospitality trains and leads the hospitality team. The team prepares coffee and communion elements for the Sunday Worship Gatherings.
Bryan Caldwell - Deacon of Emergency Response
The Deacon of Emergency Response oversees the Emergency Response Team (ERT) volunteers for Sunday services. The ERT monitors the entrances and parking lot, communicates with the on-site police officer, and assists with medical emergencies.
Jacob Fentress - Deacon of Sound
The Deacon of Sound oversees the audio of worship services and special events—including both technical and quality concerns—to create an environment that is productive for communication and worship.
Lea Ann Lund - Deacon of Ushers
The Deacon of Ushers trains ushers and schedules and oversees a rotation of head ushers for each Sunday morning. Head ushers greet people as they enter the sanctuary, assist with seating, coordinate the distribution of communion, and count the offering.
Michael Lund - Deacon of Transportation
The Deacon of Transportation provides oversight, care, and maintenance for Redeemer’s shuttle van and assists with coordinating van drivers for Redeemer events.
Melissa Moss - Deacon of the Welcome Team
The Deacon of the Welcome Team schedules and oversees a rotation of Welcomers for Sunday mornings. Welcomers greet people as they arrive at church and assist guests as needed.
Todd & Sheree Overby - Deacons of Grounds Care
The Deacons of Grounds Care oversee the maintenance and care of Redeemer’s grounds and coordinate volunteers and others to perform needed upkeep and beautification.
John Robus - Deacon of Finance and Treasurer
Deacon of Finance and Treasurer provides fiscal oversight and accountability into all bookkeeping and financial activity of Redeemer Church.
Emmie Seals - Deacon of Care in Grief and Loss
The Deacon of Care in Grief and Loss cares for the members of the church during hardships of life such as the loss of a family member, illness, hospital stays, etc., and coordinates resources necessary to meet the needs of those experiencing such hardships.
Melanie Seaver - Deacon of Care in Birth and Adoption
The Deacon of Care in Birth and Adoption facilitates care for a family when welcoming a new child either through birth, adoption, or foster care, including arranging meals and to meet other needs that may arise.
